Bastivo Cookie & Tracking Policy
Last Updated: September 18, 2026
1. Scope and Overview
This Cookie & Tracking Policy explains how DICEUS Inc., operating the Bastivo product and brand ("Bastivo," "we," "us"), uses cookies and similar technologies on the Bastivo website, marketplace, and AI Assessment tool (the "Platform"). This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We and our service providers also use similar technologies, such as local storage and software development kit (SDK) based measurement, for comparable purposes. In this Policy, "cookies" refers to cookies and these similar technologies collectively unless stated otherwise.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
Bastivo organizes cookies into three categories, each independently controllable through the consent tool described in Section 6:
-
[Essential] cookies that are necessary for the Platform to function, such as maintaining your login session, remembering your cookie-consent choices, and supporting basic security functions. Essential cookies do not require consent and cannot be turned off through the consent tool.
-
[Analytics] cookies and related technologies that help us understand how the Platform is used, such as which pages are visited and how users navigate the Platform, so that we can improve it. Analytics cookies are used only where you have provided the applicable consent, as described in Section 6.
-
[Marketing] a separately controlled consent category reserved for non-essential marketing or advertising-related tracking, such as measuring the effectiveness of a marketing campaign. The Marketing category exists in Bastivo's consent architecture so that any such tracking, if and when activated, is off by default and requires your consent before it runs. This Policy does not represent that any specific marketing, advertising, or retargeting cookie is currently active on the Platform; if Bastivo activates a marketing cookie in the future, it will be described here and will remain subject to the consent mechanism in Section 6.
4. Analytics Technologies
Where you have provided the applicable consent, Bastivo uses Google Tag Manager (GTM) to manage the deployment of analytics tags, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure Platform usage, and PostHog (U.S. Cloud) for product analytics, including limited session-replay functionality described in Section 5. GTM, GA4, and PostHog have been deployed and validated in Bastivo's Test/Staging environment; their deployment and runtime behavior on Bastivo's live production domain are approved as Bastivo's intended final configuration and remain subject to verification at production cutover. GTM is configured to support Google Consent Mode v2, and non-essential Analytics technologies are blocked until the applicable consent is provided where required.
Bastivo also uses Google Search Console to monitor and maintain the Platform's presence in Google Search results. Search Console operates on the basis of verified ownership of Bastivo's production domain and does not involve a cookie placed on your device through the Platform.
5. Session Recording and Masking
Where PostHog session-replay functionality is enabled under the Analytics consent category, Bastivo applies masking so that sensitive content — including your password, authentication tokens, AI Assessment free-text answers, and uploaded evidence documents — is excluded from any recorded session, consistent with the data-minimization approach described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Consent Mechanism
When you first visit the Platform, a consent tool asks you to Accept or Decline non-essential cookies, presented by category (Analytics and, if and when activated, Marketing). Essential cookies are not subject to this choice, as described in Section 3. You may change your choice at any time by returning to the consent tool through the cookie-settings link available on the Platform. Declining a category prevents cookies in that category from being set and, for Analytics, is intended to be reflected through Google's Consent Mode v2 as described in Section 4.
7. Your Choices
In addition to the consent tool described in Section 6, you can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting cookies; doing so may affect the functionality of the Platform. Because the Marketing category described in Section 3 is off by default and is not currently associated with an active marketing or advertising vendor, there is no marketing-specific opt-out link to provide at this time; if Bastivo activates marketing cookies in the future, this section will be updated to describe the applicable choices, consistent with the consent mechanism in Section 6. Bastivo does not use device fingerprinting or other non-cookie tracking as a fallback for users who decline non-essential cookies.
8. Do Not Track and Universal Opt-Out Signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal, for which there is no generally applicable industry standard. Bastivo manages non-essential cookies through the consent mechanism described in Section 6. Where applicable law requires Bastivo to recognize a legally valid universal opt-out mechanism for a processing activity Bastivo conducts, Bastivo will honor that mechanism as required by applicable law.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies and technologies we use. If we make a material change, we will provide notice through the Platform or by email before the change takes effect.
