Bastivo Review Policy
Last Updated: September 18, 2026
1. Scope of This Policy
This Policy governs how reviews of Providers are submitted, moderated, published, disputed, and retained on the Bastivo Platform. It should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
2. Who May Submit a Review
A review should reflect a genuine engagement or relationship with the Provider being reviewed. Bastivo may invite a reviewer based on a completed introduction or engagement, a Provider may submit a client's contact information so that Bastivo can send an invitation directly (a Provider never sends the invitation itself), or a person may submit a review of their own accord without an account. Bastivo does not require a reviewer to prove that an underlying transaction occurred before submitting a review, but every review, regardless of source, is subject to the moderation process described in Section 4.
Reviewers must disclose any current or former employment, ownership, financial, family, or other material relationship with the Provider. A disclosed material relationship does not automatically result in rejection, but the review is subject to manual review before publication and, where published, any disclosure required to avoid misleading readers.
3. Review Information We Collect and Display
A published review may display information such as the reviewer's job title, industry, company size, country, the type and approximate size of engagement, an overall rating together with sub-ratings for matters such as expertise, communication, responsiveness, and value, written review text, and whether the reviewer would recommend the Provider.
4. Reviewer Privacy and Pseudonymization
By default, a published review does not publicly display the reviewer's name, company name, or email address. A reviewer may separately choose to disclose their name or company name; choosing to disclose one does not automatically disclose the other, and a reviewer's email address is never displayed publicly under any circumstance. A reviewer may later ask Bastivo to withdraw previously disclosed identifying information by contacting Bastivo; this is handled as a request, not an automatic self-service toggle.
Bastivo may retain certain identity or relationship information internally to support moderation, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution, even where that information is not publicly displayed. Internal retention of this kind does not mean a review is not pseudonymized for public display purposes.
5. Moderation
Every review is reviewed by Bastivo before publication. Automated screening may flag potential issues, such as prohibited content, apparent conflicts of interest, duplicate submissions, or patterns suggestive of fraud or abuse, but an automated flag does not itself publish, reject, or hide a review; that decision is made by Bastivo. Bastivo does not guarantee that every submitted review will be published, and a documented reason is kept whenever a review is rejected or hidden.
6. Negative Reviews and Disputes
A Provider may not require Bastivo to remove a review merely because the review is negative. A Provider that believes a published review contains a factual inaccuracy may dispute it, or may use the applicable appeal process where the dispute instead concerns one of Bastivo's own moderation decisions. Submitting a dispute does not automatically remove or alter the review while Bastivo evaluates it, unless Bastivo determines that interim action is appropriate under this Policy. Bastivo retains sole authority over moderation and dispute outcomes.
7. Incentivized Reviews
Bastivo does not accept reviews submitted in exchange for a payment, gift, discount, credit, service benefit, or other incentive from the Provider or another interested party. Providers must not condition any benefit on submitting a review through Bastivo or on the sentiment, rating, or content of a review. Bastivo may reject or remove a review where it determines that an undisclosed or prohibited incentive was involved.
8. Review Content License
The reviewer retains ownership of the content of their review. By submitting a review, the reviewer grants Bastivo a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, reproduce, moderate, publish, display, technically reformat, and distribute the review within the Platform, and to retain it in accordance with Bastivo's applicable moderation, audit, and retention practices described in this Policy. This license does not transfer ownership of the review to Bastivo.
9. Fraud, Manipulation, and Ineligible Reviews
Bastivo does not permit false, misleading, fraudulent, or manipulated reviews, or reviews submitted in a manner inconsistent with the eligibility described in Section 2. Bastivo applies its moderation process, described in Section 5, to identify and address reviews of this kind consistently with the Platform's other applicable policies.
10. Provider Responses
A Provider may submit exactly one public response to a published review. A Provider may not add a second, separate response, but may edit its existing response, which is re-moderated before publication. A response is itself subject to Bastivo's moderation before publication and is screened, including for attempts to identify an anonymous reviewer. A Provider's response does not alter, approve, or suppress the underlying review, and a Provider does not have the ability to directly edit reviewer-submitted content.
11. Retention
Published review content, including ratings and written text, is retained as part of the marketplace's historical record. If the underlying account of the person who submitted a review is later deleted, that does not remove the previously published review content or retroactively anonymize information the reviewer already chose to disclose. If a Provider's status changes, published reviews generally remain associated with the Provider's historical record and remain visible if the Provider Profile remains public; if a profile is archived or removed, its associated public reviews are hidden together with the profile, retained internally, and restored if the profile is legitimately reactivated, unless a review was separately removed for moderation or legal reasons.
Non-public reviewer identity or relationship-verification information not chosen for public disclosure, and relevant review-supporting evidence, are retained for 24 months after the related review workflow or related dispute closes, subject to any longer retention period required or justified by applicable law, litigation hold, security, fraud-prevention, or another documented legal obligation. This period is consistent with our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will provide notice through the Platform or by email before the change takes effect.
