Bastivo Provider Listing, Verification & Correction Policy
Last Updated: September 30, 2026
1. Scope of This Policy
This Policy explains how Bastivo creates and publishes Provider Profiles, how a business can claim and verify its profile, and how anyone can request a correction, restriction, archiving, merger, or removal of a profile. It applies to every Provider Profile on the Platform, whether or not it has been claimed. This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Provider Terms, and Privacy Policy.
2. Unclaimed Profiles
Bastivo may create and publish a Provider Profile before the business it describes has registered with, or consented to appear on, Bastivo (an "Unclaimed" profile). Bastivo populates Unclaimed profiles using information from legitimate publicly available business sources, which may include a provider's own website, its public LinkedIn or business-directory pages, regulator or government sources, public registries, industry association directories, conference or membership listings, and other legitimate publicly available business sources. Bastivo applies data-minimization practices when doing so and avoids collecting unnecessary personal information.
Unclaimed Profiles do not display Provider-supplied brand assets, such as a Provider logo, unless Bastivo has an independent right or permission to use that asset. Until a profile is claimed or such permission exists, Bastivo may use a neutral placeholder or initials instead.
Where a Provider Profile includes an AI-generated summary, that summary is generated from Bastivo's own structured profile data, is labeled as AI-generated, and is reviewed before its first publication; it is kept distinguishable from sourced factual information at all times. The existence of an Unclaimed Provider Profile does not mean that the business it describes participates in, endorses, or has otherwise agreed to be represented on the Platform.
3. Claiming a Profile
An authorized representative of the business described by a Provider Profile may submit a request to claim it. Bastivo reviews each claim request and determines, in its discretion, whether sufficient evidence has been provided to establish a good-faith relationship between the claimant and the Provider Organization. Claiming a profile establishes ownership of the profile but does not, by itself, make the profile Verified.
4. Verification
Once a profile has been claimed, its authorized representative may request verification. Verification requires Bastivo's review of evidence reasonably necessary to confirm the claimant's relationship to, and authority over, the Provider Organization; an automated signal, such as a match between an email domain and the business's website, is never sufficient on its own.
Verified means Bastivo has confirmed the claimant's ownership of, or authorized relationship to, the Provider Profile and has completed Bastivo's verification review process. Verified does not mean, and should not be understood to mean, that Bastivo guarantees or endorses the Provider's quality, solvency, regulatory compliance, professional suitability, insurance coverage, financial strength, performance, or fitness for a particular Buyer's needs. Verified is not a regulatory accreditation or certification of any kind.
5. Re-Verification and the Expired Status
A Verified Provider Profile is re-verified at least once every twelve months. Bastivo may also require re-verification sooner where triggered by a change in ownership or control, a material change to a license or certification, a substantiated complaint, a material inconsistency in the profile, a compliance concern, a request from the Provider, or Bastivo's own determination.
"Expired" is a distinct verification status, separate from Claimed. If verification lapses without a successful re-verification, the profile's verification status becomes Expired: the Verified badge is removed, and the Provider's underlying ownership of the profile remains Claimed unless a separate change applies. An Expired profile is not the same as a profile that has never been verified, and it does not become Unclaimed and does not disappear. The Provider may request re-verification at any time to restore Verified status.
6. Changes to a Provider's Listed Services
A Provider may update the mix of Services associated with its Profile at any time. Where Bastivo's optional Services expertise-allocation feature is used, an ordinary update publishes without additional review. A change is treated as a major reallocation, and requires Bastivo's moderation review before it publishes, where the change involves any of the following: the Provider's top-ranked Service changes; any individual Service's allocation changes by 20 percentage points or more; or more than 30 total percentage points are redistributed across the Provider's Services as a group. This review step is limited to the scope described above and does not disclose or otherwise affect Bastivo's separate ranking methodology described in Section 10.
7. Reporting a Correction
Anyone — a Buyer, a third party, or the Provider itself — may report suspected inaccurate information on a Provider Profile using the correction channel available on the Platform. Reporting a possible inaccuracy does not itself change the disputed content; Bastivo reviews the report and determines the appropriate correction. Privacy or personal-data-related requests may instead be directed to privacy@bastivo.com.
8. Restriction, Merging, Archiving, and Removal
A Provider Organization or its public Provider Profile cannot be deleted through a self-service action. A request to restrict, merge, archive, hide, or remove a Provider Profile — including a request concerning information sourced from public records as described in Section 2 — may be submitted through the applicable support or correction channel for ordinary factual or business matters, or to privacy@bastivo.com where the request concerns privacy or personal data. Bastivo reviews these requests manually.
Submitting a request initiates Bastivo's review; it does not automatically result in removal. Bastivo determines the appropriate outcome — which may include correction, restriction, merging, archiving, or removal of the profile — in its discretion and consistent with applicable law. A Provider does not have an unconditional right to have legitimate, lawfully sourced public business information removed merely because it would prefer not to have a Bastivo listing; at the same time, this Policy does not limit any rights that applicable privacy or other law may separately provide.
9. Last Remaining Provider User
If the last remaining Provider User associated with a Claimed Provider Organization deletes their individual account, the Provider Profile remains live and Claimed. It does not automatically become Unclaimed, and it does not automatically disappear. The Provider Organization instead enters an access-recovery process, and remains in that state until a new authorized representative completes the applicable ownership-recovery and verification steps described in this Policy.
10. Ranking
Claiming a Provider Profile does not, by itself, improve that Profile's placement in Bastivo's organic search or listing results, and Bastivo does not offer paid ranking in the current version of the Platform. A Profile's current Verified status is one of several factors that inform Bastivo's ranking methodology; it does not guarantee any particular placement and ceases to apply if verification becomes Expired or is revoked (see Section 5). Where Bastivo describes a Provider using comparative language such as "Best" or "Top," that language reflects Bastivo's published, explainable, non-monetary ranking methodology; it is not a guarantee of outcome and is not a regulatory endorsement. Bastivo publishes the qualitative factors that inform its ranking methodology without disclosing the exact numeric weight given to any factor.
