Why you can trust what you see on Bastivo

Three separate systems — ranking, verification, and reviews — and none of them can be bought.

Bastivo doesn't get paid by providers to rank higher, doesn't let a provider write or edit its own reviews, and doesn't grant verification based on anything a company says about itself alone.

How Bastivo earns your trust

Not one score — three independent checks, each with its own page if you want the full detail.

Organic Ranking

Providers are ordered by a Bastivo Trust Score built from current verification, published reviews, profile completeness, taxonomy match and recent profile-content or review activity. Responsiveness is not currently used. Verification is one of several factors and never guarantees placement. Payment and commercial arrangements never affect organic ranking, and claiming a profile does not improve its ranking.

Verification

A Verified badge means two things happened, not one: the company claimed its own profile, and a Bastivo Administrator independently confirmed it. An automated email-domain match alone is never enough to earn the badge on its own. Claimed and Verified are shown as two distinct, visible states — a profile is never marked Verified unless it's genuinely both. A verification expires 12 months after approval if it isn't renewed, and the profile then shows as Claimed.

Reviews

Every review is checked for eligibility and moderated before publication. A provider can respond publicly but can never edit, reorder, or delete what a client said about them. The rating shown on any profile reflects only published reviews — nothing pending, rejected, or removed ever factors into the average. Provider responses are also moderated before publication.

The trust signals, live

Every number below is a live count, not a marketing figure — it's current whenever you're reading this.

0

providers currently Verified — Claimed and independently confirmed by our team, never self-reported.

published reviews, across the marketplace.

The lines we don't cross

Said plainly, because 'independent' is a claim every marketplace makes.

  • Never let a provider pay to move up the organic ranking.
  • Never use an internal featured flag to change public ordering or add a public label.
  • Never display a raw numeric Trust Score anywhere public — only the review-derived aggregate rating, a distinct, separately governed figure.
  • Never publish a review without moderation, and never let a provider edit, reorder, or remove a published review.
  • Never grant a Verified badge from an automated check alone — a human administrator always makes the final call.

Questions about how this actually works

The same accordion pattern used everywhere else on the site — reused, not reinvented.

Trust and moderation

No. Organic position comes from the Bastivo Trust Score, which uses stored factors including current verification, published reviews, profile completeness, taxonomy match and recent content activity. Verification is one of several factors and never guarantees placement. Payment or any commercial arrangement never affects organic ranking, Bastivo offers no paid placement, and claiming a profile does not improve its ranking.

Claimed means someone from the company has taken ownership of the profile and can maintain it. Verified means a Bastivo Administrator independently confirmed the company and its evidence on top of that claim. Every profile shows both states separately, so a claimed profile is never presented as a verified one.

No. A provider can publish a response underneath a review, and can formally dispute one they believe is inaccurate, but they can never edit, reorder or remove it. Only moderation, following the Review Policy, can change the state of a published review.

Immediately when something material changes — a verification decision, a newly published review, a taxonomy change or a profile being disabled. Factors that depend on the passage of time, such as recency of activity, are recalculated nightly.

A review found to be fraudulent is removed from the profile and stops counting towards the rating immediately. A fraudulent ownership claim has the claim revoked and the Verified badge withdrawn. Both actions are recorded, and repeat behaviour can lead to the profile being disabled.
